Dixon Summer Archaeology Lecture Series

at the Dixon Library. 

The Dixon Summer Archaeology Lecture Series continues on Sunday, June 24th (San Juan Feast Day) with a talk entitled: “Patron Saint Feast Days- A History of Resistance and Negotiation”.

This talk will explore the Pueblo Patron Saint Feast Days as sites of religious imposition, adaptation, and resistance, through a discussion of their historical emergence and continued importance to Pueblo people. The speaker, who grew up in Dixon, is Dr. Andrea McComb Sanchez, daughter of our former Presbyterian Minister, Andy McComb, and now Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Arizona.
